Our Delivery
When BOOM BATTLE BAR took the former Lazy Lizard unit in Manchester’s Printworks, the brief was to deliver the brand’s high energy, game-led formula in a city centre venue that had to work hard from day one. Across around 8,800 sq ft we fabricated and fitted out a space built for competitive socialising, with axe throwing lanes, augmented reality darts, crazy golf, shuffleboard, pool, beer pong and karaoke all sitting alongside a full bar and street food offer. The venue holds up to 400 guests, so every lane, counter and fixture had to be robust enough for a packed Saturday night and still look sharp. The creative direction was the brand’s to set, and our job was to build it faithfully, with the finish the design deserved.
What made this project a good example of how RCI Projects works was the mix of trades and technical demands under one roof. Game zones, timber bar counters, bespoke joinery and integrated entertainment all had to come together in a live programme, with details being resolved as we went. That is where fabrication capability and an experienced site team pay off. We could react quickly, make sound decisions on the tools and keep the programme moving without compromising quality. The result is a venue that handles the pace of one of Manchester’s busiest leisure destinations, from after work drinks and brunches to full venue hires and big match screenings.
